Labor of Love Day

A day built around one idea: showing up for the people and places that hold this community together. Neighbors, volunteers, and partners come together to give their time — through service projects, community care, and the kind of quiet work that doesn't make headlines but keeps a neighborhood whole.

Waffles & Wisdom

A warm breakfast and even warmer company for seniors ages 60 and older. Waffles, coffee, and conversation — because a good meal is even better when it comes with someone who's ready to listen. Just like our senior breakfasts, we keep it small on purpose, so every guest gets real time and attention.

Community Night of Prayer: Hope & Healing

When the world feels heavy, we pray together. Join us at MaryLou's for a free community dinner, shared prayer, and a night set aside for hope and healing — a space to be honest about what you're carrying, alongside neighbors who are carrying their own.

Youth Up All Night Experience

On June 12, we open the doors at Creative Suitland for twelve uninterrupted hours of supervised youth programming — games, food, mental health conversations, mentor time, and the kind of safe overnight space that gives parents one less thing to worry about and gives teenagers a place to actually be themselves.

Co-hosted in partnership with M.A.D. and Life After Release, the event was open to middle and high school youth in the DMV area. Drop-off was strictly between 7:30 and 9:00 PM — no admissions after that. Pickup was between 6:30 and 8:00 AM.

Hope & Healing: Community Prayer Night

When the world feels heavy, we pray together. Led by Rev. Tony Lee, Senior Pastor of Community of Hope AME Church, this evening brought neighbors together for shared prayer, on-site ministers for one-on-one prayer time, a free meal, and the kind of quiet, welcoming community that's hard to find anywhere else.

This is the kind of event we'll keep hosting. Watch our events page or join our mailing list to be notified about the next one.

Free Senior Breakfast

A warm meal and warmer company for seniors ages 60 and older. We keep these gatherings small on purpose — limited seating means every guest gets time, attention, and the chance to actually know the person sitting next to them. For many of our regulars, this breakfast is the one social commitment on their calendar each month. That's not small. That's the whole point.
